Jess & Andy’s Romantic Rainy Day Wedding at Fernbank Farm

Some weddings feel like something out of a dream, and Jess & Andy’s special day at Fernbank Farm on the Central Coast was exactly that. Held on Saturday, 8th March, their wedding was a perfect blend of elegance, warmth, and incredible food, all made even more magical by the soft rain that fell throughout the day.
A sweet personal touch that made the day even more special was Jess’s shoes, on the bottom, Andy had hand written “Andy”, a fun and heartfelt nod to Toy Story. It was a small detail that captured their playful personalities and love for each other.
Despite the weather, or perhaps because of it, their celebration felt all the more romantic. The rain gave the gardens a soft, misty glow, and their photographer captured some truly breathtaking moments. Guests gathered under the marquee, warm and relaxed, ready to enjoy an incredible dining experience.
A Feast to Remember
With 71 guests in attendance, Jess & Andy wanted a menu that was generous, inviting, and packed with flavour. They opted for a combination of canapés and banquet-style dining, allowing their guests to enjoy a relaxed yet elevated food experience.
Canapés
To start the evening, we served a trio of flavour-packed canapés:
Braised Beef Sliders – Slow-cooked beef with BBQ sauce, cheddar, and pickled cabbage.
Parmesan & Mushroom Arancini – Crispy golden bites paired with a thyme & truffle mayo.
Teriyaki Chicken Gyoza – A crowd favourite, served with fresh mint, sesame, and miso mayo.
Guests mingled, drinks in hand, while enjoying these bites before sitting down for the main feast.
Banquet-Style Main Course
For the main meal, Jess & Andy chose a banquet menu, perfect for bringing everyone together in a shared dining experience. The selection featured beautifully slow-cooked proteins and vibrant seasonal sides:
Slow Cooked Chicken with salsa verde & fresh radish.
Braised Lamb Shoulder with mint & garlic tzatziki.
To complement the proteins, the sides were a perfect balance of textures and flavours:
Garlic Roasted Potatoes with rosemary & eshallot salt.
Roasted Pumpkin with cabbage jam & dukkah.
Roasted Sweet Potato with glazed beetroot, tahini & spinach.
As the rain fell gently outside, guests tucked into their meals, enjoying the warmth of good food, candlelight, and the company of loved ones.
